Sandbach Sunday

Hi Folks,

Closing in on 15,500 hits on my blog...Well done you people!

Busy week....Work is still going fine..I am still waiting to hear from the hospital regarding the scan/next way forward after my bout of chronic rejection....

I tried to sign on with a GP up here and got a very grumpy man called Dr Chon....I know its s stereotype but aren't Chinese doctors meant to be happy and wise?

Perhaps I caught him on a bad day...

I spent all day Saturday waiting for the gas man who decided not to come so my Sunday the four walls of my house were doing my head in...

Luckily I had arranged to go and see my friend Caroline in Sandbach and we had a good time drinking cofee, eating veggieburgers and watching 'Celebrity' BB..

I have been saying that people seem to be ignoring in BB is the most racist person there was Jermaine 'I called my son Jermajesty' Jackson who said he would never go with a white woman and called Jade and her mother 'White trash'.....(he was right of course!)

But I have since been told he was just quoting who goes on shows like Trisha as being 'white trash'..I

It was all edited to bring out the worst in people and the over-reaction from the mediawas a nightmare....

If the the media were as 'offended' as they pretended they were - why keep showing the incidence...But the sad thing is Jade Goody STILL probably has a career (whatever her career is)..

I hear OXO cube sales have rocketted....lol

Shilpa was by far the most intelligent and likeable person in there (apart from the amazingly bizarre Cleo of course)...But people are already saying it was a fix to save Channel4's face...I don't think so...Who else could have won...Ian 'Mr Boring' Steps....I don't think so!)

I think I should get out more. Chicken Curry Rules - buy it on a t-shirt...

Gorgeous Michelle D - sorry to paraphrase our emails in this entry but you always being out the best in me - you and I definitely would make cash out of the t-shirts though!

Blue Monday

Hiya folk/folkettes,

Welcome to Blue Monday! The radio this morning said it is the most depressing day of the year today...So let me try and bring a little sunshine into your lives..or not.

Well its been a hectic week, what with all the medical stuff going on and
all the weather causing Halton Council to be the focus of so many media
enquiries!

As far as the lungs are concerned. I had a CT scan in Brum on Wednesday.
I am just waiting to hear what that revealed. I will go up to chat to the
consultant sometime this week....

While I was in Heartlands they did lots of samples taking/testing and want
me to go on IV antibiotics and come into hospital for a fortnight.

I am suggesting that IVs can be done at my local hospital in Halton and then
I would go before and after work and not take any time off....could be a
solution.

But to do this I think I must register with a GP up here....I will do that
on Monday...oh that's today isn't it!

I spent the day Saturday looking round the shops and buying the essentials...I
feel like I am stocking up a nuclear bunker!

Its all the stuff you need once and then won't need again for ages, like
household cleaners, olive oil and cheap red wine!

The job is fun. I am slowly getting to learn people's names/roles etc....and
hey....I have even noticed a couple of cute people around the building!

I have had a couple of meetings and am building up contacts....I even found
a reporter on a local paper who speaks Korean....!

Widnes has some great places...the Brindley theatre is lovely. Too bad the
star of the panto is Big Brother related... But I will enjoy promoting it.

It is Healthy Halton week next week whcih involves lots of healthy freebies
which I probably won't be well enpough to go on - gym, walks etc...Oh the
irony...

Well I am trying to do as much exercise as possible...which is hard as a
walk up a flight of stairs nearly kills me....But I am not a quitter...

Went to see Rob and Sarah, Wilmslow way on Sunday and ate loads of nice food....IT also snowed - for the first time this winter...

Well....a steaming latte (steady Frank!) is calling me.... Thanks for ALL
the emails of support and I hope to see some of you real soon.

Oh yes...I actually have the spare room looking ship-shape so am visitor-friendly!

PS: The pic is of Widnes Library...Cannock eat your heart out! (ooooo what an image!)

Snuggles and cuddly pixie stuff...

Pitmen are the pits!

Hello Blogsters,

Two blogs in two days...your literary cup literally runneth over!

How come the temperature at football grounds seems to be 10c colder than the outside world....

I'm sure there's a reason.

It is even colder if the team you go and see loses!

I went to see Hednesford Town play in the Unibond League Cup for my sins. The Pitmen crashed out of the after Woodley Sports scored two second half goals.

At least there was no extra time (they don't DO replays in this cup) so we could get to the warmness of the car soon after the end of the match...

The Hednesford manager is called Mr Starbuck - why isn't there a commercial tie-in there?

To make things worse I kept getting texts from friends at other games whose sides were all doing well....Let's just pray Villa get a result against Man U tomorrow!

An old uni friend, Emma, got in touch this week. I haven't heard from her in years and guess where her family is from....WIDNES!

As they say 'small world...but I wouldn't want to paint it!'

Wish me luck for my long trip up to Newcastle to see my cunsultant after work on Monday....

Yet More Media Whoring...

Hiya,

Well my first week in Widnes certainly got off to a flying start.

I was interviewed on Radio WM and Radio Oxford on Jan 2nd and an article about me appeared on the front page of the Express & Star....

I am getting put on all the clocking in/out and IT systems, including NEWSFLASH and by the start of next week I should be firing on all cylinders.

I haven't really explored Widnes yet as I have yet to see it in the light since moving in as this time of year one goes to work and comes home in the dark.....

At least it means I can scare myself well with Poe horror stories when I'm in bed. (That's a writer not the Tellytubby!)

I am back in Staffordshire this weekend and on Tuesday am up in Newcastle-upon-Tyne for a check-up...No rest for the wicked.

2007 - The same as 2006, only different.....

(Pic: My new abode! It wasn't reallly taken in 2003 - the date thing broke on my camera!)

Hello to everyone nursing hangovers and staring at the screen through cupped hands!

My sats are back up today so I think it will only be a question of time before I am ok again... Anyway.....I am going to move the rest of my stuff today and chill up north...

(I have to be there and set up my TV in time for The Vicar of Dibley and Life of Brian!)

I won't have a computer up there for a while so will be relying on using 'public' PCs....so please forgive me if I don't reply to your emails for a few days....

PS: Almost 15,000 hits on my blog....well done and pixie love to all of you.... xxxxx
